The audioplay Der wundersame Lord Atherton (german) by Andreas Masuth are interesting stories about the adventures of Lord Atherton and his nephews. There are six episodes available. Two episodes form a story arc. The first story is about a subway monorail, then an airship and the final story plays in Prague with a dangerous train. Andreas Masuth is one of my favorite audiobook producers. Available at Amazon.

Das Imperium der Ameisen (german) by Folgenreich produced by Oliver Döring is an audio play based on a story of H.G. Wells. The original story Empire of the Ants was published in the year 1905. The audiobook is a modern adaption of the short story. In the Amazon an expedition of a pharmaceutical concern makes a horrible discovery. The audio book has a high quality, notheless I found the story somewhat mediocre. Available at Amazon.

The audio book Der Schwarm (german) by Frank Schätzing is a well made audio play which was published by Hörverlag. Different persons were attacked through animals of the sea. Some creatures are very strange and never seen before. The biologist Sigur Johanson and other scientists and the military try to find the reason of the attacks before humanity is wiped out. The story is very interesting and I can recommend it to everyone who likes thrillers. The book is available at Amazon.

It is content that moves from advertising to storytelling. People prefer to read ads that don't look like ads. The audio book Gwendy's Wunschkasten (german) by Stepen King and Richard Chizmar is about a twelve girl old girl who gets a box with buttons from a unknown person. By pressing a button she receives coins and a sweetie. But she is forbidden to press a special button. The book is a short story. It's not the best Stephen King story, but a solid story. The audiobook Origin by Dan Brown was quite good. It keeps up to the standard of the other Dan Brown books. Harvard professor Robert Langdon, who was also the main character of four former books like The Da Vinci Code, is invited by a past student. The student Edmond Kirsch, billionaire and famous futurist, has announced a presentation which will change the world. He will answer the questions: From where are we? Where do we go? The story deals with an actual hot theme in the IT industry: aritificial intelligence. Available at Amazon.

Im Herzen des Kometen
The book Im Herzen des Kometen (german) by Gregory Bendford and David Brin is a science fiction story which starts in the year 2062. A manned expedition to the Halley's comet is started. The mission is to use it as a space ship. The crew plans to accomplish the task in 76 years by when comet will return to our solar systems. A great part of the crew is in life suspending chambers and will be awakend in some decades. The plan is overthrown as a new life form is discovered. The crew gets ill and earth doesn't want them to return because fear of infection. The fist half of the book was a litte bit tedious for me to read but it got better to the end. Available at Amazon.

The audiobook Beyond by Andrea Bottlinger consists of six audio books. The story plays in the near future where a smartphone seems to be a necessity. Many people play the online game Beyond which is an augmented reality game played in the real world by using glasses. But something weird goes on as a few people are killed. Blindwütig
The book Blindwütig (german) by Dean R. Koontz is a thriller about the writer Cubby Greenwich. Shearman Waxx criticizes the book very unfair. So unfair that Cubby gets angry about him. As Cubby has a short strange talk with Waxx, Cubbys problems begin. He and his family are terrorized. The story is written very good and it is a great book. As a teenager I have read a lot of books which Koontz has written. He was one of my favorite authors. It seems that I have to check the newer books which I did not read yet. Available at Amazon.

The audio book Star Trek - Voyager 1: Heimkehr by Christie Golden is a scifi story in the Star Trek universe. It continues at the end of the televison series. After the spaceship Voyager is returned to earth the crew members can live their former live. But the crew members get in trouble, since a mysterious illness appears. Holograms revolt against humans. The former Borg collective members are taken prison. The story is solid and surely interesting for fans of the series. Available at Amazon.

The audio book Die Zeitmaschine by H. G. Wells appeared in the serie Gruselkabinett. In only about an hour the famous story of the time machine is told. The narrators are good, the story can be easily followed. Some parts are shortened. But nonetheless I liked the audio book. Available at Amazon.

The book Spinneret / Astra in the german version by Timothy Zahn is a science fiction story about the first contact of mankind with alien races. Since most habitable planets are occupied mankind leases a planet for the next 100 years to establish a colony. The planet has nearly no metals which makes it quite worthless for the owner. The discovery of a factory of a highly advanded ancient civilization raises the interest of the other races. Cool story, agreable to read. Available at Amazon.

The book Error by Neal Stephenson is an interesting thriller. Richard Forthrast is the founder of T'Rain, an online world similar to Word of Warcraft. One day his nice Zula gets in trouble because of her boy friend who tried to make an illegal business transaction. The data he sold got crypted by a virus. To get rid of the ransom ware they have to get to a place in the T'Rain game and make a payment. Afterwards she is taken hostage by a terrorist group. The audiobook Chrysaor (german) by James A. Sullivan has its setting in a time were the artificial intelligences left the human race. People aren't able to rebuild the advanced technologies which were left behind by the machines. They are used in the hope that they don't get broken. The story weaves around the young Pilot Chris who plays an important role in the war between the Uranosioan system and the rebels about the access to a planet with an ancient city with many artefacts. The book Sandkönige (german) by George R. R. Martin is a collection of four short science fiction stories. The stories were written between 1976 and 1979. Three of them I found mediocre. The best of them is the Sandking story, which gave the book the title. One year back I read the Sandkönige story as a comic. At their return on earth mankind is contacted by an alien ambassador who wants to meet this astronauts. He reveals that mankind is doomed and they are allowed to save 500 people of their species. The audio book The Long Utopia by Terry Pratchett is the fourth book in The Long Earth series. The story evolves and more facts about the main characters are revealed. The story of Joshuas ancestors, natural enabled switchers to parallel worlds, is reveiled. The arificial intelligence Lobsang tries to live a normal life as farmer but ends up to help mankind fight an alien replicator species. Terry Pratchett died in 2015, but he could finish the fifth and last story before death. Available at Amazon.

The book Dark Space - Die Meinscheit ist verloren (german) by Jasper T. Scott is the first book in the series. It's a military science fiction story. Ten years ago the Synthians conquered the human solar system. Mankind flees in the dark space, an isolated part in the galaxy in which it is quite difficult to navigate. Ethan Orthane is given the task to infiltrate the military ship Valiant which guards the entrance to the dark space. The story is intersting to read. Available at Amazon.

The book Steinfrühling (german) by Stephen Baxter is the first book in the Nordland trilogy. It is a fictional historical roman which plays ten thounsand years ago.
